Business English Certificate Course

This certificate is issued by Cambridge University, England.

This Programme is conducted by English Department with people trained by experts from British Council, to improve

 the spoken and written communication skills of our students as per industrial needs. At the end of the course students

appear for  an examination conducted by the Cambridge University through the British Council, and a certificate is issued

to the students which is

equivalent to IELTS.

ISTE Chapter

All the Faculty members are members if our college are members of ISTE Chapters and Prof. Vincent H.Willson

Prof. & Head of the Department Mechanical Engineering is the coordinator of ISTE chapter. More than 150 students are

members of ISTE student’s chapter.

NSS

The College  has one unit having 100 volunteers. The activities are planned by the  committee headed by the Principal  and

Coordinated by NSS programme Office, Mr. D.Bellarmen, Lecturer in English.

·          Various  programmes were conducted during the every academic year. And  our college brought laurels by
receiving two awards during the year 2005-2006.

·          The Governor of Tamilnadu has honoured the NSS unit of our college for the excellent service in
Velankanni and Nagapattinam during the Tsunami  on 26-12-05.

·          The District Collector of Thanjavur honoured the NSS unit on 29-09-05 for a massive Blood donation programme.

Youth Red Cross

 The College YRC has 100 Student members of one unit. Among various activities, YRC organizes awareness

 programmes  to the rural masses in the surrounding villages about AIDS and other preventive measures, this includes

propagating the importance of pulse polio drops for rural children.

RED Ribbon Club

This club is functioning with 100 student members specially for AIDS awareness programmes.

Sports and Games

The total area of Play  Ground available in our college is 24404 m². The indoor and outdoor game facilities are available

 in our college. The college encourages students to participate in various sports and games events conducted by

Anna University sports board and Tamil Nadu Inter Engineering sports (TIES) meet and  our students perform well in events.
